Holy Week--Holy Life
Compiled from the Bible by DaySounds

Isaiah prophesied regarding Jesus as the perfect, once and for all, sacrificial Lamb,
about 700 years before his birth:

"He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief;
and, as one from whom men hide their faces, he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he bore our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet, we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised
for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that made us whole, and with his stripes
we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Yahweh
laid on him the iniquity of us all." Isaiah 53:3-6

"In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries
and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because
of his reverent submission. Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what
he suffered; and having been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation
for all who obey him, having been designated by God a high priest according to the
order of Melchizedek." --Hebrews 5:7-10

"But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ should suffer,
he thus fulfilled. Repent therefore, and turn around, that your sins may be blotted out,
that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,.." --Acts 3:18 & 19
"For godly sorrow produces repentance that leads to salvation and brings no regret, but
worldly sorrow produces death." --II Corinthians 7:10

"And Jesus called them to him and said to them, 'You know that those who are supposed
to rule over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over
them. But it shall not be so among you; but whoever would be great among you must be
your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For the Son of
man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.'"
--Mark 10:42-45

"Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and
saying, 'The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the
gospel.'" --Mark 1:14, 15

"And Jesus cried out and said, 'He who believes in me, believes not in me but in him who
sent me. And he who sees me sees him who sent me. I have come as light into the world,
that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. If any one hears my sayings and
does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save
the world. He who rejects me and does not receive my sayings has a judge; the word that
I have spoken will be his judge on the last day. For I have not spoken on my own authority;
the Father who sent me has himself given me commandment what to say and what to speak.
And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father
has bidden me.'" -- John 12:44-50

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die,
yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?'"
-- John 11:25-26

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared
with the glory which shall be revealed in us." --Romans 8:18

"And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned around
to the Lord." --Acts 11:21
